Dave McGranahan - Triathlon Story

A freak accident, at the age of 14, took my left leg above the knee.  In 2001, I became involved in triathlons because I had learned to run leg-over-leg due to attending an Amputee Fitness Clinic sponsored by Swanson Orthotic and Prosthetic Center.  Vern Swanson has been integral in my success.  He has been very diligent in designing and re-designing my legs to enhance comfort, function and speed.

I am a thirty-eight year old father and husband married over 14 years to my wife Terri.  My children are Madisen 9, Delaney 8, and Jack 6.  We reside in Sylvania, Ohio and are members of St. Joseph’s Church.  I received a BS in marketing from the University of Dayton (1991) and a MBA in finance from Eastern Michigan University (1995) and a Certified Public Accountant (2002).  I work for Charter One Bank as a Vice President in Commercial Lending helping small businesses in Northwest Ohio with their financial needs.  I am a life loyal member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
