McGranahan, HP Knee I have had no problems with my Bionix HP Knee. It is a very tough strong knee frame. I call it my working horse knee. It is the best knee that I have ever had. I run a minimum of 15 miles per week and compete in Triathlon events on my HP Knee Frame with no problems what so ever. If I happen to fall down during a competition I will not break the HP Knee. In the past, I have had carbon knee frames crack when I fell down. I have no annoying noise or creaking in the HP knee Frame. I like the lighter weight aircraft aluminum construction and the heavy duty double bearings. I like the smoother knee action and easier swing motion. I like the adjustable attachment for the Quad Control Band. I recommend the Bionix HP Knee for active AK Amputees. Energy Storing Quad Control Band I run every week with the help of the Quad Control Band on my AK prosthesis. If I take off my Quad Control Band and run, it seems like I'm running with a brick on my foot. This year, during six mile Triathlon competitions I ran an average of 12 minute miles with the Quad Control Band with less fatigue. Last year during the Triathlons, I ran an average of 15 minute miles without the quad Band and had more fatigue. I can walk faster and farther with less energy consumption with my Quad Control Band. For example, I go to Cedar Pointe Amusement Park and walk around all day with much less fatigue than before. |

I am writing to thank you and the staff for the prosthetic left leg that you made me. The fit is perfect and, the comfort level increases daily. Since I started its use, I’ve gone from four hours a day or every other day to fifteen hours daily without having to remove it. What a marked improvement. And Vern, when people see me walk they ask what leg is it anyway, they can’t tell that I wear a prosthesis. This device has made my movements more fluid or smooth as it were. Of course I always refer to you and think back to what you said about the lose of your own leg and what it was like for you. Our conversations have helped to heal not only the physical but, moreover, the emotional aspect of losing a limb. I call your office the one stop shop. I not only know what it’s like to lose a leg, today I know what it’s like to gain a prostheses. Vern, we are truly brothers in a unique fraternity. In the past 15 years that I have been an amputee, the Bionix Prosthetic Solutions HP Knee has been the most durable and trouble free knee that I have ever had. There has not been any noise from side play and the knee bearings have not wore out. This surprises me because I work at a cement company, in a dusty environment where cement is mixed and loaded onto cement trucks. I will get this same HP Knee when I get my prosthesis replaced. I really like the wide kneeling surface.
